As a child of the ‘80s and a Kathleen Hanna fan, I was tickled pink to stumble onto this video a few minutes ago. It’s Le Tigre’s “Deceptacon” mashed up with images from the kid’s TV series Jem, and it’s actually quite well done. Showtime, Synergy!

I am not usually one to use chat-room abbrevs, but,
OMG.
Thank you, Melinda. My day is now at least 80% more awesome.
Also - I used to be all about Aja, but I just noticed the Hologram with the red hair who always seems to be in a suit - holy moly! She's like the Laurie Anderson of cartoonland!

I just watched this again, at work, surrounded by dazzled coworkers. I can't believe how well synched-up and just generally awesome this is. I'm giddy from watching it!
Although I was the proud owner of a Jem doll with flashing red light-up earrings, I think I always liked the bad girls in the show more. At home, I have a CD-R of 32 songs by the Misfits, downloaded from the interwebs years ago. (To the uninitiated: No, not those Misfits; it's the rival girl band from Jem, who were always kidnapping Kimber and trying to steal Jem's boyfriend and stuff.)
