Maybe this whole “diamonds prove your love for a woman” trend is finally over? Perhaps the industry has shifted gears?
(Thanks Daisy)
No one is ever allowed to accuse me of “pampering” the dog again. Gratuitous photo of the would-be recipient of diamonds in my household, after the jump.

In what kind of magazine did you find that ad???
Also I like how your dog is making a kind of coquettish, maybe-you-should-buy-me-some-diamonds face.

I did some math and you could pay univeristy tuition for over 50 people for all 4 years for that money. I am not saying I don't spend money frivilously when I can - but a stupid necklace...a 1.8 MILLION dollar necklace... for a dog? Imagine what people in Africa would think about that. Or Afghanistan! Or even our country where some people cannot afford to buy a winter coat for their child. As if the dog cares about the necklace! Homedog would rather wear a link of sausage than a diamond necklace.
People like this need to spend time with single mothers who hold down 3 jobs just so their kids have some food on the table and somewhere to call home. I need to slap these people.

"Amour" can mean "pussycat" as well as "love" in French...the diamond puppy is probably darn offended at such a slur.
I wonder if the darling "amour" has seen blood diamond?
