In my household we yell out the word “tricked” every time we watch a televsion ad that makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside, only to find out in the end that it’s for an SUV, a soft drink, or some equally bad corporate product that is likely contributing to the destruction of humanity. Give me a good tune and some heartwarming imagery and bam! I feel hope, joy, bliss, choked up and then total dismay that a (insert product) commercial had the power to do that to me.

WOW. Sad on so many levels.
Also: was that a Joanna Newsom song? It was pretty. Now I feel even weirder.

That commercial was just weird. And yes it was Joanna Newsom! I guess even musical geniuses gotta make house payments.
My dad says this commercial always makes him think of me - maybe a hint to get sprogged up? I promise you this one will trick you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3xe9d...

I love the tenuousness of the connections between the warm and fuzzy and the product. "Alright people, how are we warm and fuzzy? We only need one sentence. Go!"
Thea's sprogged one makes me think of our strange new world where it's often advertisers with money to pay for "art". So you might see something similar to this shown at a place like SIGGRAPH, but the only way it manifests in our day-to-day lives is if someone sponsors it as an ad...

I want to make a spoof ad where my boyfriend picks me up from my bat mitzvah in a nazi costume on an old schwinn motorcycle.
The tag line can be "Morries kosher catering - lets not let politics get in the way of a celebration".
