great review sister!
I love the movie -- when george peppard overhears audrey singing "moon river"... well it's just one of my favourite moments in film history..
I think the novella is fantaaaastic -- particularly because you're right jenna, the queer, feminist narratives are more available than the film allows them to be...
yah and mickey rooney's racial charicature feels so awkward/dated...

Jenna, I love your approach to webcasting, costumes and all. I'm trying to get into doing this too, what type of camera do you use? I guess this means that I might not get to blog in my pyjamas...

I love this movie purely for movies sake and Audrey Hepburn -- but the feminist/social issues you could explore are staggering!
* the Mickey Rooney character
* the development of the relationship between Holly and Fred in the movie
* Fred's sexual orientation which was left out / changed in the movie
* Holly's relationship with her husband (along with the marriage at 14)
* Holly's relationship with her brother who is "simple" or "slow" and a soldier (not to mention what ends up happening to her brother and the reaction to it)
* Holly's lifestyle of dating rich men and uprooted living and $50 for the powder room
* Fred's relationship with the married woman
* the relationship between Holly and the man she visits in prison while unknowingly carrying secret messages
* Holly's relationship with her South American "fiance"
... not to mention the impact this movie has had on popular culture!
I could go on ... :)
I like this choice Jenna!

Thanks peeps for the positive feedback!
piKe - I used to use my webcam, which worked fine for a while, but then the sound of my computer seemed to get annoying. Now I use a Panasonic digital video camcorder model no. PV GS80
D.Cole - I agree, there is sooo much going on in the plot of the film and book!!!
