I'm hiding! No, really. My partner, who is American, sent in her absentee ballot weeks ago and we're hoping for the best but worrying about the shenanigans with the sketchy voting machines and Supreme Court battles and such that have made recent elections into week-long circuses. She has vetoed the idea of watching the returns as she doesn't want to risk ulcers and the like, so we are watching movies, working and composing more Shameless blog posts about TV!
Is that too head-in-the-sand?

I am going to take a walk with my dog and have one last long smirk at all the McPalin signs in my neighbourhood. Then I'm going to come home, do some writing, make bisque and keep my fingers crossed for Jim Martin, the Democrat candidate for GA's senate seat, who's going against incumbent Saxby Chambliss - who is a shitstain on the Senate floor. I've heard from politically engaged people all over the USA who are sending money to Jim Martin because Chambliss is that damn odious and shameful. (Most likely this race will end in a runoff due to Libertarians splitting the vote, but I can hope). I'll be watching the Comedy Central election show; not sure whether I'll watch TV or just keep up with returns on the internet outside of that.

I meditated walking down big long hallways and avoided people asking me my opinion of who will win. I get too tired of the same conversation over and over... can't wait for something new to talk about!!!

(We get to decide what's discriminatory, hateful, attacking, or inflammatory).
In some cases, we will cap off comments on a discussion when we feel they are spiralling out of control and fostering an unwelcoming space for bloggers and readers. Comments will be closed by the Web Editor, unless the post is by the Web Editor, in which case the Editor in Chief will close them.
If your comments repeatedly make the same point, they may be deleted. This also applies to comments made by multiple members of the same organization.
Your comments should be about the topic of the post, not its writer—although we certainly encourage praise for our writers, if you want to say something nice.
