Some important Canadian political interjection here.
Two particular things of note that the Conservatives are gathering to discuss at their upcoming policy convention in Winnipeg;
1) The Human Rights Commission. The Canadian commission’s authority to investigate complaints related to hate messages should be removed. (Umm, I’m sorry, we don’t need to investigate hate crimes anymore? Wtf?!)
2) The Unborn Victims of Crime Act, or what was formerly known as Bill C484. (That’s right, even though Harper supposedly took it off the table - to win the election - voila, he’s back in power, and SURPRISE, it’s back on their agenda!)
Thanks Lisa for the reminder!

There needs to be some kind of nationwide protest about that awful "Unborn Victims of Crime Act" bill. What a load of bull. Go away Harper!

Let's all do like Sheetal!The truth is that once Harper called the elections all the bills even the good ones were all tabled, so they'll need to be introduced once again and go through the regular steps. Since Stéphane Dion promised that he wouldn't let anything affect reproductive rights, I have hope that the future form of C484 will not pass its first reading. If not, we are there to fight!

stephane dion and lizzy may both are pro life btw. look it up. julia when you say "no new abortion laws" you have to realize there is none at all right now. i could abort a "fetus" the day before birth. i'm pro-choice but also for responsible choice making. a fetus is a human being at what point? it has fingerprints at three months so.....
