Take a look at this awesome video from the 1930s that shows what “some of the most famous fashion designers” predicted women (and a few men) would be wearing in the year 2000.
Some highlights include:
* A designer that “goes so far as to believe that skirts will disappear entirely.” My goodness, could you imagine a woman who wears nothing but pants?!! She might if it’s paired with “an electric belt [that] will adapt the body to climactic changes.”
* “Oooo, swish.”
* Don’t go trolling the dark streets looking for a husband without a light strapped to your head, ladies! A girl needs to have “an electric headlight to help her find an honest man.”
* And the men? “If he matters at all, there won’t be any shaving, collars, ties, or pockets.” (Why not?) But no worries, “he’ll be fitted with a telephone, radio, and containers for coins, keys, and candy for cuties.“ Well, thank goodness for that!
